Parking Permit Information

Faculty and staff parking permits are in effect from January to December. In order for faculty and staff to use any campus parking facility, they must purchase and obtain a valid parking permit. The permit is in a form of a rearview mirror hangtag and a window decal.

Once received, the Rutgers parking permit hangtag must be displayed and clearly visible in the vehicle for parking enforcement officers to see. Must be hung from the rearview mirror with expiration date facing the outside of the vehicle. Decal Confirms that your vehicle is registered and should match your hangtag. One decal for each vehicle you register is issued. Decal Must be permanently  affixed to the rear, side window on the driver side of the vehicle.

Permits may be purchased at the Parking Department Office during normal business hours and payments can be made by cash, check,  or payroll deduction.

You may register as many additional vehicles as you need at a nominal fee and will be given an additional decal for each vehicle. Since you may not have multiple registered vehicles on campus at the same time, the same hangtag must be transferred to whichever vehicle you are using that day. Both your hangtag and window decal must be displayed while parking.

If you normally do not drive to work, but need parking on an infrequent basis, you may purchase a One Day Hangtag for $5 as needed at the Parking office.

Refunds
Permit hangtag and decal (or as much as you can scrape off) may be returned for a refund as follows:
By January 19          100% refund
By July 19                50% refund
Once a permit is returned, a Refund Check Request is submitted to New Brunswick, which will mail the check to the address on record.
