Parking Permit Information

In order for visitors to use a campus parking facility from Mondays at 7:30am through Fridays at 5pm, a valid parking permit must be obtained. The permit is in a form of a rear view mirror hang tag.  From 5pm Friday through Sunday night, no permits are required in Faculty/Staff Lots.

Individuals may purchase parking permits for $2 per day (tax included) at the Parking Department (4th and Pearl Streets) during normal business hours. After hours, please obtain a permit from the Police Dispatcher. Visitors may park on 4th Street next to the Police building while obtaining a permit, then must move their vehicle to the appropriate parking lot. Payments can be made by cash or check. Once received, the Rutgers parking permit must be displayed and clearly visible in the vehicle for parking enforcement officers to see.

MOST Parking Permits from the New Brunswick and Newark campuses are honored on the Camden Campus.  Student permits are honored in City Lot 11 (formerly Rutgers Lot 7) at the end of Cooper Street.  Faculty/Staff permits are honored in Camden's Faculty/Staff Lots 1, 2, 3, and 14 plus at City Lot 11 (formerly Rutgers Lot 7).  Orange Newark hangtags are NOT honored in any Camden Campus Lot, nor are temporary (daily) permits from either other campus.

Rules & Regulations

All parking lots are patrolled regularly to make sure cars are parked legally. All Lots have signs indicating what type of lot it is and what type of permit is allowed.

If you receive a parking ticket, you have the right to appeal your fine. Forms can be obtained on the "Parking Tickets" page of this website or at the parking department, located in the lobby of  Rutgers Police department. Appeals are not addressed at the time they are completed and are judged only on whether or not the offense committed agrees with the fine assigned. Circumstances are not taken into consideration.

Unpaid tickets can result in having your vehicle "booted".

Vehicles are subject to towing/booting at the owner’s expense for any violation of parking/registration rules or accumulation of answered citations. All towing/booting and storage charges are the responsibility of the driver and/or owner. Contact University Police at (856) 225-6009 for location of vehicle.

Parking Lot Leasing for Special Events
